Frequently Asked Questions

What is TNK Children’s Foundation?

TNK Children’s Foundation is an organization founded by parents with a vision for alleviating the burdens placed on parents who are caring for critically ill children. Currently, we assist the families of children with cancer and other blood disorders.

My child is battling cancer, and I’m struggling to keep up with everything. Can you help?

Yes! TNK Children’s Foundation exists to help parents like you. Apply now to become one of our families.

Who are your volunteers? Although I need help, I don’t want someone I don’t know cleaning my house..

All of our volunteers undergo extensive background checks and multiple screenings before they are allowed to enter a family’s home. Many of our services don’t require volunteers to have access to your home. For those services that do, we promise we won’t let anyone into your home that we wouldn’t allow into our own. Feel free to contact us with any further questions concerning our volunteer screening process.

How can I volunteer to help TNK Children’s Foundation?

Check out our Get Involved page. We love our volunteers and have plenty of opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels to help us as we support our families.

My child is battling a critical illness that isn’t a blood disease or cancer.  Can TNK Children’s Foundation help me and my family??

Although we have a vision to eventually help all families of critically ill children, we currently have limited resources. For this reason, we have chosen to focus those resources on providing assistance specifically to the families of children with cancer and blood diseases since these are the issues we best understand.

Does TNK Children’s Foundation offer monetary support to families?

At this time, TNK Children’s Foundation provides services and products that meet the needs of families we support. Although we do not provide financial support, we do provide resources that can help to alleviate financial strain.

What is your service area for families?

Currently, TNK Children’s Foundation serves families with a child being treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital and KU Hospital in Kansas City, MO. We have plans to extend our service area as we grow. Sign up for our newsletter in order to receive regular updates.
